Wayground Setup Instructions: Using App

Step 1. Download and Install Wayground app from your device’s app store

Step 2. Create Your Account. Follow the instructions below very carefully –

  • Select School (K-12 to University) option. Do NOT use the “Work” option.
  • Select “Student” option.
  • Then click on “Login/Signup” button at the top right corner as shown in the image below with the arrow. Do not enter any code in the box that says “enter a join code”. We will be entering our class code at a later step, not here.
  • Sign up using the SAME email that you used for registration. Do NOT use “Sign in with Apple” — there are known technical issues with Apple Sign‑In.
  • We recommend using only ONE of the following options:
    • Signup with Google — if you have a Gmail account
    • Signup with Email — for any non‑Gmail email address. Click on the small link called “More Signup options” to see this option.
    • Signup with Microsoft — if you have a Microsoft account. Click on the small link called “More Signup options” to see this option.
  • Enter your full name during registration

Step 3. Join Your Class

  • Navigate to “Classes” tab at bottom. (See screenshot below)

  • Click on “Join a class”
  • Enter the class code provided by the school staff.

Step 4. Find your assignment

Once your teacher has assigned you module quizzes, you can find them as below.

  • Click “Activity” tab as per the screen shown below –
  • Restart app if assignments not visible

Wayground Troubleshooting Instructions:

Below are some troubleshooting steps for students who have successfully set up Wayground using either Option 1 or Option 2, but are experiencing issues using the application.

  1. When I input the join code, it says – “invalid”. What should I do?
    • Please make sure you are not entering the code in “Join game” screen. Navigate to “Classes” tab after logging in. Click on “Join a class” and then enter the class code. You can see all the screen shots in instructions above.
  2. The Wayground app is not loading the quiz.
    • Please exit the app and relaunch it from your phone’s home screen.
  3. I do not see my quiz in the app:
    • Please make sure you are in the “Activity” tab. If you still do not see the quiz, please exit the app and relaunch it from your phone’s home screen.
  4. I do not see the option to join a class:
    • Navigate to “Classes” tab at bottom.
    • Click on “Join a class”
    • Enter the class code provided by the school staff. Do not enter any code in the “enter a join code” box on the main screen, where it says “Join game”. The class code must be entered only in “Join a class” screen.
