Description of maximum allowed theory and clinical session absences and consequences of exceeding them:
- No more than ONE absences are permitted in theory and TWO in clinical sessions. Exceeding either of these limits will result in immediate dismissal from the program unless absences are excused and supported with valid documentation. Please see the section “Description of excused and unexcused absences” below for more information.
- Students must contact their instructor at least two hours before class if absent.
- All missed classes MUST BE made up to meet CDPH hour requirements. See the section “Make-Up Policy” below for more information on scheduling make up sessions.
Description of excused and unexcused absences:
- Excused absences include documented illness, emergencies, or approved personal leave.
- Unexcused absences are any missed sessions without valid documentation.
- Students who experience a prolonged excused absence, that is greater than maximum allowed absences, i.e. 1 theory or 2 clinical sessions may be placed on a temporary leave of absence and transferred to the next available cohort to complete missed Theory and/or Clinical hours.
- Students must provide documentation for excused absences.
Make‑Up Policy

Students who experience a prolonged excused absence — meaning more than one theory or two clinical sessions—will be placed on a temporary leave of absence and transferred to the next available cohort to complete the missed theory and/or clinical hours.
Theory Make‑Ups
Any missed theory class must be made up before you begin your clinical training. Our school runs multiple Weekday AM, Weekday PM, and Weekend cohorts in parallel. We do not add extra theory makeup days within a cohort; instead, all theory make‑ups are completed in another cohort running at the same time. A missed AM theory class may be made up in a PM or Weekend cohort, and a missed PM or Weekend theory class may be made up in an AM cohort. Once students submit their request for a theory make‑up class, staff will schedule the session and ensure it is completed before the student begins clinical training.
Clinical Make‑Ups
All clinical make‑up hours must be completed within 90 days of the original absence.
Clinical make‑up sessions will also be scheduled in another cohort running at the same time, when space is available. A missed AM clinical class may be made up in a PM or Weekend cohort, and a missed PM or Weekend clinical class may be made up in an AM cohort .
We do not add extra clinical make‑up days within a cohort. If no clinical make‑up spots are available in another cohort due to student‑to‑instructor ratio limits, the school will schedule special clinical make‑up days to allow students to complete their missed clinical hours. These special clinical make‑up day(s) are scheduled on a monthly basis, as needed, and students from different cohorts may attend together to complete their required clinical make‑up hours.
Make-up Fee
There is a $50 make-up fee for each Theory make-up class, and $75 make‑up fee for each Clinical make‑up class.
