Our Home Health Aide Training program (HHA) is for students who already hold an active or current nurse assistant certification. This Home Health Aide Training expands the CNA role, preparing certified nursing assistants to provide quality one-on-one care in home-care settings, home health agencies, and other private-care environments — rather than in a hospital or facility setting.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this 40-hour course covers Elder Abuse, Chain of Command, Communication, Home Safety, Infection Control in the home setting, Cultural Diversity, Food Prep and Handling, and Safe Home Maintenance procedures. Students who complete the course and pass the school’s competency exam receive a certificate of completion.
What is a Home Health Aide?
A Home Health Aide (HHA) is a certified caregiver who supports clients with daily living activities in the comfort of their own home, rather than in a hospital, clinic, or skilled nursing facility. While a CNA typically works under nurses in an institutional setting, an HHA extends that same hands-on training into home health agencies, private-duty care, and hospice support — helping clients stay safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
