Bay Area CNA School BLS and CPR Training
Our BLS and CPR Training is an American Heart Association (AHA)-aligned course that prepares healthcare professionals to recognize emergencies, deliver high-quality CPR, and use an AED — for adults, children, and infants. You’ll receive AHA certification upon completion.
What is BLS Certification?
BLS stands for Basic Life Support — the foundational set of skills healthcare providers use to respond to cardiac arrest, choking, and other life-threatening emergencies before advanced medical help arrives. Unlike general public CPR classes, BLS and CPR Training is built specifically for people who work in clinical or care settings, covering team-based response, use of a bag-valve mask, and coordination with other rescuers during multi-person CPR.
Most hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies require current BLS certification as a condition of employment, which is why many of our CNA students choose to add this course to their training.

Why Add BLS and CPR Training to Your CNA Program?
While CNA certification alone qualifies you to work as a nursing assistant, adding BLS and CPR Training makes you a stronger candidate for facility and home-care employers who list it as a hiring requirement or strong preference. Because our course runs as a single 4-hour session, you can complete it alongside your CNA program without adding weeks to your schedule.
Many students choose to schedule their BLS and CPR Training session early in their CNA program so the certification is already in hand by graduation, ready to include on job applications from day one.
Certification & Renewal
Your BLS certification is valid for 2 years from your completion date. When it’s time to renew, Bay Area CNA School offers the same AHA-aligned course as a refresher — check our class schedule for upcoming session dates before your card expires.
