Every Bay Area CNA School TB Screening must be submitted early in training. Here’s what’s accepted, the deadlines, and where to get tested.
Your name must be printed on the report. This is the most common reason a TB report is sent back. Lab printouts and patient-portal screenshots often show only a record number — check yours before you upload it.
Accepted Test Types
We accept a prior TB negative report if it’s dated within the last 12 months. Submit any one of the following:
- Skin Test (PPD) — the least expensive option.
- Blood Test (e.g., QuantiFERON or T-SPOT).
- Chest X-ray — only if medically indicated, such as after a positive skin or blood test.
- Your full name — as it appears on your government-issued ID
- The date of the test
- A negative result
- The clinic or lab that performed it
Reports that do not show your name cannot be accepted. Lab printouts and patient-portal screenshots sometimes show only a record or accession number — if yours does, ask the clinic for a copy with your name printed on it.

We accept a TB negative report dated within the last 12 months, so a recent test from a prior job, school, or medical visit may still qualify. If your existing report is older than 12 months, you’ll need a new test before submitting it as part of your Bay Area CNA School TB Screening.
